Little did I know that my career as a speech and language pathologist would lead me to so many fulfilling directions. Many thanks to all of those wonderful patients, caregivers, families, and many friends who have supported me and been my greatest teachers. I hope I was able to give them what they needed as they greatly enriched my journey.

       I dedicate this to the memory of my mother - Florence Mitchell (1918-2005)

I recently shared my story about the journey we took through the communication challenges she encountered in her later years in a chapter of a book where others shared their stories about their mothers.  I may have my Master’s degree and more than three decades in my profession, but the experiences surrounding those years with my mom gave me an "honorary" Ph.D. on many levels. I was truly blessed and my purpose now is to help others open to the process, to gain some insights to help them walk the journey with each other.
